Peter Wyrick
Cello
Peter Wyrick is co-director of Chamber Music Sundaes, and the cellist in its resident quartet, the Tomodachi String Quartet. He served as San Francisco Symphony’s Associate Principal Cello
from 1999 to 2025, prior to which he was Principal Cello of the Mostly Mozart Chamber Orchestra and a cellist with the New York City Opera Orchestra. Peter was a member of the
Ridge String Quartet, whose recording of the Dvorak Piano Quintets with pianist Rudolf Firkusny won the French Diapason d’Or and was nominated for the 1993 Grammy Award for the Best
Chamber Music Performance. His recordings include the cello sonatas of Gabriel Faure with pianist Earl Wild, as well as chamber works for the Stereophile and Arabesque labels.
